Background and rationale
A large company based in Douala, operating in the commercial sector, particularly in the representation and distribution of major brands of cosmetics and food products of recognized reputation, research for its development and its service needs one (01) dynamic Marketing Assistant (Category Manager)
Place of performance of the contract: Douala.
Type of contract: CDI.
Date of taking office: August 2019.
I. Relationship with the commercial and the signs
At the commercial level, the category manager will be in relation with the sales force, responsible for referencing its products in the stores, as well as the key accounts that represent the company with retail chains. For example, the category manager can develop a sales pitch with sales teams (a document that enables the sales force to convince supermarkets to reference a product in their shelf). He can also design merchandising tools to highlight the products of his category in the linear (eg PLV, etc ...) The category manager can also optimize the product range of the category in linear (the assortment consists of all the products that make up the category). This optimization involves the upstream study of consumer purchasing behavior using panels.
II. Relationship with the Brand Manager
The category manager is in constant contact with the marketing to participate in the development of the marketing strategy. For example, he will accompany the Brand Manager in designing a launch plan for a new product. Benefiting from the field and consumer vision, the category manager's point of view is key to marketing.
III. Relationship with finance and logistics
The category manager is in regular contact with finance to monitor the financial profitability of its product category and the promotional actions put in place (eg to measure the impact on the profitability of a type 2 transaction produced for 1 purchased). Finally, with logistics, its role is to ensure the availability of products in its category in the linear and avoid breaks (products not available in the department) especially during promotional periods.
